12 Places You Can Visit in Singapore

1. Marina Bay Sands – an 18-minute train ride from Little India through Rochor MRT Station. “Visit Singapore’s most iconic luxury hotel for the world’s largest infinity pool, award-winning dining, and a wide range of shopping and entertainment options.” It is best to visit the place during the evenings. You’ll witness a musical rhapsody and light show that will give you the Disney Princess feels and will leave you in awe.

2. Merlion Statue – a 21-minute walk from Marina Bay Sands. You can’t visit Singapore without seeing its most famous landmark, the Merlion Statue. It depicts the head of a lion and a tail of a fish, hence the name Merlion.

3. Double Helix Bridge – connects the Marina Center to Marina Bay Sands.

4. Singapore Flyer – This is a must if you want to see the beauty of Singapore with a bird’s-eye view. From up there, you’ll see the famous landmarks of Singapore such as the Double Helix Bridge, the Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and the Merlion Statue.

5. Cloud Forest – Enter the world of misty mountains and a huge variety of flowers. Feel the cold breeze from an artificial waterfalls. Climb up to the seventh level and be introduced to different species of orchids and sakura.

6. Flower Dome – If you are a person who loves flowers, then this one is for you. See the beauty and fall in love with different kinds of flowers in the Flower Dome. This will give you the Spring season-feels you get in countries with spring.

7. OCBC Skyway – Walk and see the beauty of both the city of Singapore and its nature. From afar, you’ll see the cities absolute-must see attractions such as the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome, Marina Bay Sands, Merlion and Singapore Flyer. Below, you’ll see the green and the forest-like scenery. At night, there is a musical rhapsody and light show too.

8. Universal Studios – Unleash your inner child spirit with its amazing rides and amusement park. Live in your favorite Hollywood movies here in Universal Studios.

9. Orchard Lane – Shop your favorite designer bags, clothes, perfumes and shoes in the biggest and best shopping malls in Singapore here at Orchard Lane. You can also find Singapore souvenir items at the Lucky Plaza.
*For Filipinos who haven’t been living in the Philippines and missed the taste of Pinoy food and delicacies, Lucky Plaza is perfect for you. It is one of the malls in Singapore I visited more than once just to eat at the Jolibee Restaurant and taste some of the Pinoy food I haven’t tasted in years such as sisig, lechon, halo-halo and more. Oh! How I missed the Pinoy-style burger and spaghetti. 😀

10. Chinatown – a 15-minute train ride from Little India via Jalan Besar MRT Station, Chinatown is a perfect place to shop for cheap Singapore souvenirs to give your loved ones such as bags, coin purses, key chains, mugs, ref magnets, tee-shirts, and more. Restaurants with a huge variety of Asian and Western food can also be found within Chinatown.

11. Fort Canning Park – the best place to visit whenever you need a long strut with your favorite pet dog, or to breathe some fresh air. Fort Canning Park offers you a refreshing sight if you want to have a break from the city life. Aside from the beautiful green scenery, you can also see some of its historical artifacts and rich heritage and tranquility. Fort Canning Park is also a “host to concerts, festivals and theatre productions such as Ballet Under the Stars, Films at the Fort, and Shakespeare in the Park.”

12. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple – a large temple which can be found just within Chinatown, built only in 2007 but the art exhibits the Buddhists’ ancient rich culture. “The temple gets its name from what the Buddhists regard as the left canine tooth of Buddha, which has been recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India and displayed in its grounds.” Be mindful of what you wear when you go inside the temple, though. They do not allow ladies who wear shorts unless you wear that long skirt they give you.
